Emerald Ash Borer
The emerald ash borer (EAB), an invasive wood-boring beetle from Asia, is responsible for the death and decline of tens of millions of ash trees in North America. EAB lays its eggs in the bark crevices of ash trees. The EAB is a wood-boring beetle that lays eggs in ash trees, where the larvae feed on the tree’s inner bark, preventing it from transporting water and nutrients. This kills the tree. It will eventually die if you don’t treat an ash tree for the emerald ash borer (EAB). Dead or dying ash trees can be dangerous and should be removed.
